Content-wise, the message of the song gives me the shivers, as Jonathan talks about being able to let go when it comes to the growth of a child. I do not have any kids, but I’ve always imagined that the act of letting your child grow up and be their own individual could be a hard thing to swallow – Well Jonathan definitely eases your mind a bit, reminding you that everything will be alright when it’s all said and done.
Vocally, Jonathan sings with this soothing yet ecstatic sound that perfectly compliments the message of the song. Even though the message may be a sad one for many, he never makes you feel that way – instead, he makes you feel optimistic about the continued growth your child is destined to embark on.
I think this is a really good song, and something that will touch people for sure!
