Here is Frank Ocean’s features this year: Jay-Z, Tyler The Creator, Travis Scott, Migos, A$AP Rocky, and now Thugger! Hip Hop being homophobic is clearly a hoax.
We all assumed once we heard that Thugger was on the song that it might be some crazy s–t, but it turns out to be an acoustic/gentle track. Thugger does still go crazy on it, going from calm and soothing to belligerent unexpectedly.
Frank Ocean’s part is a bit off beat to me, but I think his goal was to sound a little unorthodox here. You don’t get much from him vocally, as he is more focused in creating a certain vibe for the listeners.
It’ll take me a while to understand this song.
