TOP 5 SONGS
5. RIGHT PLACE
On ‘Right Place’, Jonathan really pours out his heart over this theratrical instrumental.
In terms of content, Jonathan talks about this one lover that has this mental control over him, imploring that she be careful with his heart. I like how Jonathan is willing to show this fragile side to him, as he puts his trust in this special person.
I think this is Jonathan’s best song vocally.
4. FAR AWAY
‘Far Away’ is somber, is riveting, and is that heart-wrenching track that is able to combine an emotional production with Jonathan’s dramatic vocals.
I get this really soothing feel from this song, as Jonathan takes us on this fantasy-like journey. More than any other song on this album, Jonathan does a fantastic job of painting this lucid picture for us through his singing.
3. BLUE ROOM
‘Blue Room’ has the same title as the album name, and serves like a theme song to it. You can feel the electricity instilled in the record, as Jonathan enthusiastically sings about a woman that is going through a crisis in her life. The chorus is touching yet exciting, and his verses are powerful and appealing. It’s the perfect message/style to prep fans for a dynamic album.
‘Hollywood’ is a gleeful song about the overwhelming delight that comes from being in Hollywood.
While many artists tend to go the darker route when it comes to discussing Hollywood? Jonathan decided to do the opposite, making it sound fun in every type of way. Jonathan is really good at showing his joy on this song, as you can just hear the excitement from both his guitar play and boisterous vocals.
1. WHEN YOU COME AROUND
‘When you Come Around’ is a gentle pop song by Jonathan that is nothing short of affectionate. Throughout, Jonathan picks his words wisely in describing how much this special persons presence excites him, reminding them that he would do anything for them when they come around. His words are delivered smoothly, as he makes sure each line reverberates with the listeners.
