Roy Woods – Afterparty (Ft. Lil Yachty & Swae Lee) (Review & Stream)

Rate This Song

Roy Woods ain’t quite a household name (yet), but his potential on the few records he’s released thus far has been worth noting.

I feel like Roy Woods has a soothing voice, but on songs like these, he opts to use it for evil! (Muhahaha) Throughout this song, you get rapper-like lyrics from the Canadian singer, as gloats about all the bad ass chicks he has in his arsenal. His cockiness is hard to ignore, and his swag is on ‘overwhelming’.

Lil Yachty doesn’t fit this song at all. He sounds a little too goofy for the wicked sounding trap beat, and his singing diminishes the quality of the song. I can definitely do without Lil Boat here.

Swae Lee has this song in a choke hold the minute his verse starts. He delivers in his lyrics, his punchlines, and most of all, he brings this cold ass demeanor that fits the song a lot. His part is a good reminder that he can spit with the best of them whenever he wants to.

Who brags about going to after parties anymore?
