This is the first time I’ve seen Mr. Hudson’s face.
For those who may not be familiar with Mr. Hudson, he was that one white dude that was cool with Jay and Kanye, featuring on a few songs here and there on their respective albums. He’s always added an interesting sound to whatever song he’s featured on, which I think is a sound that has since been emulated by several different artists today. On this particular song, he gives us something nice and simple that has him discussing the troubles he’s going through with this lovely someone. I love his nonchalant voice when he sings, and appreciate his vulnerable lyrics.
Vic Mensa is perfect for this song, especially considering how emotional he gets when he raps. I think his verse is pretty intense here, as he details all the coldness that a broken relationship has done to him.
This is a very solid song that I predict no one will appreciate.
