Imani Wj Wright continues his hot streak of R&B music in “No Fair.”
When it comes to smooth R&B music, in my opinion, there isn’t anyone better than Imani Wj Wright. I feel like he knows how to pull certain strings emotionally through his music, typically drawing us in through some infectious vocals and austere instrumentals. In “No Fair,” the Baltimore phenom uses those exact sentiments to create this passionate tune that has him mixing in some boisterous vocals with a bunch of thought-provoking lyrics. I love how Imani gets lost in the jazzy/bluesy instrumental throughout, going into great detail on the steps he took to fix this fractured situation between him and his lover. Not only is it relatable, but it is also riveting to listen to.
I said it before and I’ll say it again: Imani is Grammy-bound.
