Jay Rock (aka Kendrick’s shooter) keeps the hits coming with “Win”
One of the biggest winners of the Black Panther soundtrack was Jay Rock. If you recall, he had a song on there with Kendrick and Future called “King’s Dead,” and if you ask me, he held his own against the two heavyweights on it. Today, he makes his triumphant return to the scene with this motivational banger called “Win.”
Gassed up by a bunch of Kendrick Lamar ad-libs, Jay Rock comes out swinging, delivering this impassioned performance that straddles the line between catchy and repetitive. Normally a bit mild mannered, the LA native shows lots of exuberance this time around, letting the world know that he is ready to do whatever it takes to get to the crown.
If I were the Rockets, I would keep this song on repeat in the locker room. Sometimes speaking a win into existence works!
