Chris Brown, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & Pop Smoke Hop On H.E.R.’s “Slide” (Remix)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Damn, all y’all tryna slide with H.E.R.? (YG is right, there’s something about those sexy-ass glasses she be wearing.)

“Slide” was one of the few songs I gave a 5/5 on this site last year. The chemistry between H.E.R. and YG is fantastic, and the song’s vibes put me in a good mood every time I hear it.

This remix to “Slide” is a bit more intense than the original, but it’s still very good. It features a verse by Pop Smoke, where he channels a drunk 50 Cent, a bizarre verse by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, where he both threatens and spoils his girl, and a verse by Chris Brown, where he raps raw and sounds like someone who bullies a girl into dating him. I’m not sure I’ve heard a versatile remix like this in a while.

I can’t believe n***as in 2020 are still tryna woo girls with grit.
