BLACK HABITS

D Smoke

OVERALL RATING (B)

D Smoke definitely does his thing in Black Habits.

Let’s be real: D Smoke sounds like Kendrick Lamar. It’s OK, though, Kendrick is a very enjoyable artist to listen to. Anyways, in Black Habits, the Rhythm & Flow winner gifts us with a body of work that features serious west-coast vibes, beats that are both hard-hitting and soulful, flows that are amazing, lyrics that straddle the line between wise and trill, and melodies that are smoother than Klay Thompson’s jump shot. In other words, Black Habits is an album hip-hop fans prayed they would get from an artist like D Smoke!

Black Habits features Ari Lennox, Snoop Dogg, Jill Scott, SiR and more!
