Mozzy & Blxst Keep It 100 On “I Ain’t Perfect”

I AIN’T PERFECT

Mozzy & Blxst

OVERALL RATING (?????)

After listening to “I Ain’t Perfect,” I think I’m going to stop complaining about being at home all day.

It took me a while to start appreciating Mozzy’s music. On the real, I have always known that he can rap his ass off but wasn’t sure if he was capable of putting together a complete song. Well, after listening to “I Ain’t Perfect,” I can officially say that I am woke to Mozzy’s hit-making ways.

“I Ain’t Perfect” features this emotional-ass beat that does everything in its power to make you cry. Over it, Mozzy gifts us with vulnerable verses that have him talking about his hate for the IRS, his lost friends, his rough come up, his hustling ways and his knack for shutting down haters. Below are some of his words from the song:

Let me tell you ’bout the pain in them broken homes (In them broken homes)
Let me tell you ’bout the flesh wounds and broken bones (I’m talkin’ broken bones)
Let me tell you ’bout the absence of a rolling stone (Nigga talkin’ ’bout it)
Mama said he wanna leave, then let that nigga go
Shout out SSI ’cause them the checks that we been livin’ on
Fuck the IRS, that half a ticket that they hit me for
I’m sippin’ slow
Told the world I quit, it’s hard to kick it, though
Least I don’t promote it on the ‘Gram, this my addiction, though
It numb the pain that I be goin’ through, who are you to judge?
I miss you, Brenda, unsure without you, I been secluded, love
These people use your love against you, they abuse your love
She been abused by all these men in the pursuit of love

As for Blxst, he blesses us with a hook that straddles the line between passionate and infectious on “I Ain’t Perfect.” In my opinion, he is the MVP of the song.

I needed a deep-ass song like “I Ain’t Perfect” in my life.
