In 2020, for the most part, G-Eazy has strayed away from rap and has embraced alternative music. On the Bay Area native's latest single, "Nostalgia Cycle," he sings like someone that is miserable and hits us with depressing lyrics about being this lost individual. Though the beat he does all of his work over does happen to feature hip-hop vibes, nothing about his vocal performance on the song screams hip-hop, to me.
