Terry Blade Keeps It Real On “Black Hurts”

BLACK HURTS

Terry Blade

OVERALL RATING (??????????)

“Black Hurts” is one of the most important slow jams you will hear in your lifetime.

I wish more people knew how hard it is to be black in America. Not only are their systems in place to make it hard for us to succeed, but it also seems like someone from our community has an unflattering run-in with the cops every other day. In “Black Hurts,” Terry Blade, someone that has an unbelievable voice, talks about his own black experience.

Even though “Black Hurts” features a smooth instrumental, a tantalizing vocal performance, and melodies to die for, the best thing about the song is Terry’s powerful lyrics. Throughout his verses, he talks about the frustrating, nauseating, unfair, and unnecessary troubles that come with being black.

Every single second of “Black Hurts” should strike a chord with you. Listen to the song below.
