I love how “Wake” boasts both club vibes and political lyrics.
Metallic Malik is someone who has a sick-ass nickname, someone who has a good ear for music, and someone who clearly watches CNN. On “Wake,” his latest single, he blesses us with beyond infectious melodies and tackles all of the major topics that are haunting the world today.
Though “Wake” features vibes, melodies, and flows that you should be familiar with, at the end of the day, what makes the song special is that it also features lyrics about the Coronavirus pandemic, climate change, and politics that should strike a chord with you.
We need more songs like “Wake.”
