If you like hip-hop, you have to like CJ’s “Whoopty” track. Everything from the song’s beat to its hook is simply too invigorating to pass on. Today, a remix to “Whoopty” has hit streaming services, and unfortunately, it has made me like the original version a little less…

Even though I give this “Whoopty” remix two stars, I will say this, though: I’m impressed that CJ altered the beat a little (I’m old enough to remember when remixes sounded different from original versions). Unfortunately, I am not super impressed with French Montana and Rowdy Rebel’s contributions to the song… Though the former does display tons of swag in his verse, I didn’t quite love his punchlines (They were a little cheesy/elementary-sounding). As for the latter, I’m a little thrown off by his erratic flows (I also liked his swag, though).

If you ask me, “Whoopty” deserves a better remix than this…
