Margarita Shamrakov is one of the most impressive artists that I’ve gotten a chance to write about. While she clearly loves music (She’s a singer, a songwriter, and even a music teacher), it is her willingness to cover deep/powerful topics in her music that catches my attention the most. For instance, last year, Margarita released “Radium Girls,” a song that pays homage to girls that worked in radium factories in the 1920s (Kudos to her for telling their stories). Her latest release, “The Greatest Love Story Ever Told,” is a song that tackles the pressure that comes with loving someone harder than you’ve ever loved anything in the world.

“The Greatest Love Story Ever Told” is one of the most impressive tracks that you will listen to today. Since it is powered by an emotional/piano-laced instrumental that does everything in its power to crack that wall that is guarding your soul, you get to hear everything from beautiful melodies to high notes to pure passion out of Margarita. As for lyrically, the New York-based singer does a great job of cleverly/vividly finding ways to describe how breaking her back for love hasn’t gotten her to the happy place that she always desired to be in.
