Corey Ellis (ft. Vory)
RGM Rating: (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)
Ellis and Vory should collaborate more often.
Maine-born creative, Corey Ellis, is one of eleven kids between his parents. Getting an early start to his craft, he began rapping at nine with his childhood best friend. Corey officially started his music career after high school when he began attending Husson University to get his degree in marketing. His previous tracks include “Bossed Up,” “DUMB,” “ALIVE,” and “Let’s Go,” all of which have earned him over ten million streams on Spotify. For his newest single, “ISSALIE,” Corey decided to team up with R&B singer and rapper Vory.
“ISSALIE” is groovy right from the start. The guitar that helps build the beat up is by far one of my favorite parts. The combination of Corey Ellis and Vory’s talents creates a smooth, genre-bending track that mixes hip-hop and R&B.
The lyrics for “ISSALIE” have Ellis and Vory talking about the aftermath of being caught cheating. They aren’t sorry, but they touch on how they also don’t understand how their ex could have loved or trusted them since they don’t even love or trust themselves. If you haven’t checked out “ISSALIE” yet, go stream it now for a genuinely good time.
