Never Truly Alone
Halover
RGM RATING (????????)
A hypnotic, dark-pop single that reflects on the struggles of being alone.
Los Angeles-based musician, Anna Mezentseva (aka Halover), is a Siberian singer and songwriter born and raised in Russia with a long-standing passion for music. In her early teens, Halover wrote and performed her own work in her hometown. Her music blends dark electronic pop and soul elements for a standout, contagious sound. Some of Halover’s influences include Tove Lo, BANKS, Amy Winehouse, and Billie Eilish. Her latest drop is the single “Never Truly Alone.”
Halover’s track commands attention with its electrifying sound that sets a wonderfully moody backdrop for the rising artist’s soft yet melodic vocals. According to Halover, “Never Truly Alone” was written during the lockdown and “paraphrased” the Orson Welles quote, “We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone.” The meaning behind her reworked title is “that we always have ourselves to turn to in difficult times, and that’s more than enough.” You definitely don’t want to miss out on Halover’s new single (it’s her first in two years). So check out this stylish dark-pop tune for an honest reflection on isolation and an uplifting reminder that we are “Never Truly Alone.”
