Norway-based musician, Ruben Gausel Torkelson, is a producer that makes electronic music that is both stimulating and expertly done. Some of his most notable singles are “To You,” “Morning Light,” “Rebound,” and “Take You Down.” Ruben’s latest release is “Start Over,” an impressive collaboration single that features a stunning vocal performance by Holly Rae.
I’m going to start this review off by saying this: “Start Over” is easily one of the best tracks that I’ve heard this year. For starters, I love how action-packed, dynamic, intoxicating, and smooth the instrumental that powers the song is. Not only did I feel it in my soul, but it also made me want to go wild on a dance floor (That’s an interesting combination of feelings, right?). From there, I found it impossible not to feel the infectious melodies and passionate vocals that Holly Rae infused into the song. The icing on the cake for “Start Over” is the song’s powerful lyrics about giving a strained relationship a fresh start, mainly because the highs outweighed the lows when it was striving.
