Lil Durk Drops “Lion Eyes”

RGM RATING (??????)

Lil Durk continues to let his heart bleed in his music.

Lil Durk’s name should be in contention for artist of the year. While he hasn’t dropped a bunch of projects in 2021, he has killed features. Today, the Chicago rapper decided to bolster his resume with “Lion Eyes,” yet another emotional banger.

“Lion Eyes” sounds like most of the songs in Lil Durk’s catalog (That’s not necessarily a great thing). It features a piano-driven instrumental, very simple melodies, and somewhat shaky flows (Let’s call it what it is). I think the song’s saving grace is Durk’s powerful lyrics about his resiliency,  his love for guns, his lost friends, and his luxurious ways.

Meh.
