Not Mr. Nice Guy
Cartier J
RGM RATING (????????)
A captivating hip-hop track that brings plenty of heat.
Brooklyn, NY’s very own Cartier J is a rising new artist who shows off skills well beyond his years. According to an interview over the summer, J.’s long-standing passion for music and rapping comes partially from his father, as well as his own love for creating. His inspirations include both classic and modern creators. The teen credits his family with keeping his life balanced as he pursues both his education and his art. One of Cartier J’s latest drops is the hip-hop single “Not Mr. Nice Guy.”
Accompanied by a mellow blend of beats that highlight the single’s vocals, “Not Mr. Nice Guy” keeps the focus on the artist’s smooth lyricism with a hypnotic backdrop that never tries to overtake Cartier J’s delivery. Lines like “Be wit them killa gorillas in the jungle, they rockin camo” and “Don’t mess wit us, pull the machine guns out but not no Rambo” show off well-crafted wordplay and hold a subtle personal touch. At such a young age, there’s no doubt that Cartier’s presence in the music scene will only continue to grow. You’ll certainly want to check out his recent work, so press play and take in some serious talent with “Not Mr. Nice Guy.”
