UK creative, Taylor Jarrett (aka Scorcher), is a multi-talented British MC, songwriter, and actor from North London. He first debuted back in 2008, eventually becoming an intricate part of the UK Grime scene. His well-received tracks include tunes like “No One Else” and “Stay Real.” In his on-screen career, Scorcher is known for his work in the television series Top Boy, along with films like The Intent and Offender. In addition, he featured in Comedy Central’s Drunk History: Black Stories. Scorcher’s latest drop is the album The Drama, which features the hip-hop track “Recall.” The song was additionally released as a single and features artist Akelle. There is also an accompanying music video.

Accompanied by a captivating blend of Afro-infused rap beats, Scorcher and Akelle reflect on the prison system and their experiences behind bars. Likewise, the striking visuals immerse listeners into the world of “Recall” with its jail-like setting. Lyrics like “security risk from security securing my wrists” and “sitting with my two kids on a closed visit” touch upon a new understanding; these lyrics recollecting what it’s like to be in and out of the system with blunt honesty.
