Having Kid Cudi on the Sonic The Hedgehog 2 soundtrack is a huge W for everyone involved. He strikes me as a guy that actually played the classic video game series just as much as I did back in the day. The good news is this: Cudi’s single off the soundtrack is actually outstanding.
This pop-punk track features everything from colorful melodies to dreamy lyrics to vibrant production. As good as the song is, I think the music video to it is even better. In it, Cudi, Sonic, and Tails go to war with Dr. Robotnik in the video game world. If you grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog (Particularly Sonic The Hedgehog 2), a smile should come to your face.
