I think it’s safe to say that Tory Lanez is one of the best male R&B singers in the game today; even though he only toys with the genre part-time.
It’s really slim-picking when it comes to male R&B artists these days. There’s Trey Songz’s weird-ass, Blxst, Ty Dolla $ign, Tory Lanez, and then that’s about it… (The female R&B field is thriving right now, though) Today, the latter name that I mentioned decided to bolster his R&B resume by releasing “I LIKE,” a serene banger that features silky smooth vocals and a few raps here and there.
Do you know what I find astonishing about “I LIKE?” It sounds like two people made the song. The way Tory channels both a sly crooner and a gritty rapper in it is impressive. Like, it literally sounds like a Drake featuring The Weeknd track.
I would’ve given this song five stars if we got some Timbaland beatboxing on it (Dagnabbit).
