Go Now / Let Go
Jordan McLean
RGM RATING (????????)
A slow hip-hop single with nostalgic elements and ethereal time management.
Atlanta-based musician, Jordan McLean, is an up-and-coming artist who has a unique mindset. He has always looked at music from an artist’s perspective, never the listener’s. McLean started writing his own raps in middle school. Eventually, he decided to take his work to the next level. With that, McLean officially released his debut single, “No Time,” back in February. Since then, he’s grown his music catalog on platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. Jordan McLean’s sophomore hip-hop single is titled “Go Now / Let Go.” The song also has an accompanying music video.
“Go Now / Let Go” sounds sunny, bright, and somewhat droopy at the same time. As for the message behind the song, it revolves around leaving someone behind. Lyrics like “We have all the time in the world / It won’t matter because forever ain’t enough to see our ever afters” and “The line we walk today represents our path in present / It crossed us for a moment and now the moment’s ending” explore saying goodbye. A former flame is left in the distance as the artist comes to terms with the past. The song has ethereal vibes that make it easily consumable for everyone. It explores feeling a romantic connection along with realizing that things can’t always last. So, stream Jordan McLean’s “Go Now / Let Go” today to feel that lover’s loss yourself.
