Black Thought, Russ & Joey Bada$$ Trade Bars In “Because”

Because

Black Thought & Danger Mouse (Ft. Joey Bada$$ & Russ)

This song has more bars than U St.

Only real ones know how good Black Thought is. For over 20 years, he’s been quietly killing folks in the streets, in the studio, and on Jimmy Fallon. Matter of fact, I imagine going against him on a track would be as terrifying as trying to draw a charge on prime LeBron. In “Because,” Russ and Joey Bada$$ go toe to toe against the legendary Thought.

I know that we will give a lot of love to the rappers on this song, but homage should be paid to Danger Mouse for his help with the production. The psychedelic but hard-hitting instrumental he hooks the MCs up with definitely pumps them up to whoop ass. With that being said, here’s how I see each person’s verses on this song: Black Thought had the most thoughtful verse, Joey Bada$$ had the most ferocious verse, and Russ had the most relatable verse. What all of the verses have in common is that they are jampacked with punchlines and steady flows.

Would you let someone wash you on a song?
