Chicago-based musical creative, Jessenation, is a rising artist who loves to experiment. In his music, he usually fuses various genres such as Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall, and reggae. Since he first appeared on the music scene, Jessenation has gained plenty of fans on various streaming platforms. Additionally, he has toured with artists such as Naira Marley and Olamide. Most recently, Jessenation performed on stage with Kanye West at the Donda listening party in Soldier Field. Jessenation’s music is available on Spotify, YouTube, and his own website. His latest album release is Vibesbation (Reports from Space) Vol. 2. His new album contains the track “Sunmomi,” which features artists Deaj and Queen Drie.

“Sunmomi” combines various elements for an Afrobeats meets hip-hop experience. Content-wise, the song revolves around communication and managing love. Lyrics like “I’ve been lost in this head of mine. Sometimes, I can’t find my shine” and “Working on communication, baby. I know, my mood swings got you looking stupid” are hard-hitting. The three artists melodically explore their feelings by making sure they explain how they appear to others. Clearly, this is important to all three of them, and as artists, it should be. Offering up a vibrant style, this creation stylishly explores various aspects of music.
