S-X

An emotional pop tune that thoughtfully explores an old flame.

West Midlands, Wolverhampton-based musical creative, Sam Andrew Gumbley (aka S-X), is a British singer, songwriter, and record producer who crafts truly attention-grabbing tunes you don’t want to miss. Since starting his music journey, S-X has spent years building a name for himself. He has worked with well-known artists such as Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, and J. Cole. The artist’s work includes Grammy-nominated songs and gold and silver-selling records. In 2015, S-X stepped away from music entirely. However, he’s since returned to the music scene with a renewed sense of his passion. S-X’s latest drop is the album things change, which features the track “his problem now.”

With a mellowed-out backdrop of light instrumentals, “his problem now” nicely complements its emotionally stirring reflection with an easygoing yet infectious soundscape. Lyrics like, “I used to be your remedy. I made you laugh, now you’re an enemy. The truth cuts like a knife” and “Up above the clouds with him, so until we meet again, goodbye my lover, my friend” shows the artist vulnerably baring all as he reflects on his ex. With its deep personal sense, S-X’s new track honestly explores feelings of sadness, regret, and heartbreak in a way that’s both relatable and touchingly intimate. So, press play and let the words in “his problem now” tug at your heartstrings.
