“That Was Me” arrives a few days after Russ canceled his ongoing tour for personal reasons.

Russ has always been quick to tell you how much money he has and all of the exquisite trips he’s taken in his music. I don’t blame him, though; he worked his ass off to get to where he is today. For those of you that don’t know Russ’ come-up story, I recommend that you listen to his brand new single, “That Was Me.”

“That Was Me” might be Russ’ dullest record to date. The song boasts a sluggish tone and subdued vocals. As for lyrically, the Atlanta-based rapper opens up about everything from providing for his family to his alcohol and weed addictions. More than anything, I think this song serves as medicine for him.

Let it all out, Russ.
