NGO’s Chasing a “Ghost”

Ghost

NGO

An alternative R&B tune that reflects on heartache.

California-based musical creative, NGO, is also known as Calvin Ngo. Ngo is a Vietnamese-American producer. After initially launching himself into the music scene in June 2016, the artist has only continued to gain attention. His futuristic, bass-inspired dance-pop remix of Drake and Rihanna’s “Too Good” gave him his first big break; it earned over 15 million streams across all streaming platforms. Since then, the Bay Area native has transitioned towards mainstream production, releasing original works which have received major record label recognition. Additionally, Ngo has earned placements in notable editorial playlists and interviews with BBC Radio 1. His discography is available on Spotify and Apple Music. NGO’s latest drop is the alternative R&B single “Ghost,” which features Rasmus Wahlgren.

There’s no ghost about this ghost. This song is meant to be a romantic reflection instead of just a story about how an SO can be a ghost. Lyrics like “Some nights it’s a little too easy, and some nights you just can’t leave me alone” and “It’s a shame how you know me so well, got me running circles round you” are well-delivered with soulful vocals. These beautifully contrast the track’s expressive backdrop. As a relatable exploration of a fading romance, NGO and Rasmus Wahlgren perfectly capture common relationship struggles in their collab. So, if you’re feeling lonely this holiday season, press play and let yourself bond to the familiar feelings of NGO’s “Ghost.”
