Die For You (Remix)

The Weeknd

I wonder why The Weeknd decided to drop a remix to “Die For You” seven years later… F**k it, I wanted to hear the song again anyway.

This weekend, The Weeknd’s highly-anticipated televised LA concert, Live At The Sofi, will be shown on HBO. While I’m guessing his show will celebrate all he has accomplished in the last couple of years, it might also indicate that he’s ready to move on to new endeavors. Well, how can we move on without reminiscing, right? Today, for some strange reason, The Weeknd decided to drop an Ariana Grande-assisted remix to “Die For You,” a track that came out in 2016.

“Die For You” is one of my favorite records from Starboy. While I wouldn’t have tweaked a single thing about the song, I’m not mad at this Ariana Grande remix of it. She does a good job of matching The Weeknd’s passion throughout, proving that men weren’t the only ones jumping off cliffs for love.

Though I don’t plan on replaying this remix to “Die For You,” it needs to be appreciated because it features two great vocalists from this generation.
