PART2

Jean-Baptiste

A slick hip-hop single.

Massachusetts/Tampa Bay-based musical creative, Jean-Baptiste, is a hip-hop artist. Ten years prior to his debut single, the artist’s freestyle and songwriting abilities were already well-recognized amongst inner circles. With his name circulating, Baptiste claims “a deep appreciation for hip-hop’s roots and authenticity.” His influences include artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Earl Sweatshirt, Anderson. Paak, Frank Ocean, Dom Kennedy, and A Tribe Called Quest. As a result of his many inspirations, he works to make each and every song a story of its own. Baptiste’s discography is available on Spotify and SoundCloud. His latest drop is the hip-hop single “PART2.”

The artwork for this song perfectly describes it. Flames are thrown left and right to let everyone within the area know exactly how Baptiste feels. He admits that he’s talking down to others and loves it. We can’t help but wonder what inspired him to say some of the things we’re all feeling, but we can applaud his bravery. At the same time, we know he’s right. There’s no success without rigor, and there’s no diving without falling; only the best make it to the top. Lyrics like  “Eyes on the title, but you’ll never touch it / Please don’t just dream of it / You gotta trust it” show that desire. Sometimes, the only way forward is by leaping with faith that you’ll land. So, press play below and trust in “PART2.”
