Quavo Drops “Honey Bun”

“Honey Bun” is Quavo’s hardest release in a while.

It’s one thing to lose a family member; it’s another thing to lose a family member in a public manner. For Quavo, the latter is what happened to him. While he got his chance to take some time off and show the world how much he is hurting inside, it seems like he’s back to kicking ass and taking names. Today, the Migos rapper returned to the music scene with an explosive new single called “Honey Bun.”

Ain’t a damn thing sweet about “Honey Bun.” In the song, which is powered by this bass-booming trap beat that I can see a hood Batman dabbing his ass off to, Quavo raps about sliding on folks, returning to his 2014 self, and stiff-arming so-called bosses. In his verses, the Atlanta native sounds competitive as hell, while on the hook, he sounds like that one kid that sang “Warriors, come out and play.”

Quavo has the heart of a damn lion.
