JT Drops Serious Bars In “No Bars”

No Bars

JT

Yea, this is a very weird title for a song.

Do you know what always cracks me up? When artists go solo, yet people still mention the group they are in when they release a solo single. Like, for some odd reason, whenever Yung Miami or JT drop solo singles, people label it as “Yung Miami from City Girls” or “JT from City Girls.” They didn’t do that s**t when Beyoncé went solo, so what gives? Anywho, JT from City Girls returned to the music scene today with a new single called “No Bars.” If it sounds familiar, it’s because Nicki Minaj from Young Money played the track on her social media the other day.

JT is from Miami, but “No Bars” gives me Detroit vibes. The song is powered by one of those Detroit-styled beats with hard-hitting drums and a splash of funkiness. No need to worry, JT sounds like JT throughout (What excellent writing this is). Not only does she let her strong Southern twang shine, but she also hits us with lyrics about scamming, smashing her competition, and flossing. While I wouldn’t say I love this s**t,  I do applaud JT for going the kill-a-rapper route here.
