Die Today

“21 Questions” the EarthGang way.
Dreamville is starting to heat up! Just yesterday, Bas dropped a brand new single called “Ho Chi Minh.” It was also announced that we should be getting new music from JID as soon as tomorrow. Now, Earthgang has entered the fray. Today, the duo returned to the music scene with a new single called “Die Today.”
“Die Today” asks the million-dollar question: Does winning an NBA championship mean you are a world champion in basketball? What would you do if your partner died today? While the question is somber, thankfully, the song doesn’t sound cold at all. It boasts an uptempo, fun vibe, animated deliveries, and infectious melodies. Even though lyrics like “Plot, plot, plottin’ on my death, can’t eradicate me” and “Holdin’ hands, is it really love, or it’s just a trance?” are tense, for the most part, Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot sound pretty upbeat throughout their verses.
EarthGang’s last major project was GHETTO GODS, which featured guest appearances from Future, J. Cole, Nick Cannon, Ari Lennox, and more. I’m curious to see what they follow that up with. In the meantime, stay locked into RGM to hear more new releases from big-name artists like them.
