Kevin Gates Teases His Upcoming Album “Ceremony” with “God Slippers”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Let’s keep it real: “God Slippers” is a fantastic title for a song.

Kevin Gates has nothing left to prove. He’s released some pretty solid projects, such as Luca Brasi, a few classic records like “2 Phones” and “Thinking With My D**k,” and conducted several exceptional interviews. The good news is that it doesn’t seem like the Louisiana rapper has any plans to call it quits anytime soon. He recently announced that he will be releasing a new project by the end of the year. The lead single for it seems to be “God Slippers,” which you can hear below.

I really enjoy “God Slippers.” In the song, which is driven by a booming, almost spiritual-sounding beat, Gates discusses the miracles he’s performed, the hard work he’s invested in, and the tough times he’s had to overcome. What’s intriguing is that Gates sounds somewhat unenergetic and perturbed in the track. He’s probably frustrated that some people don’t believe he can walk on water (Honestly, I’m still skeptical that he started a car battery with his own hands).

I’m convinced that Kevin Gates is a biblical character who time-traveled to 2023.
