Toosii Says “IDGAF”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Toosii continues to spill his heart out on tracks.

Toosii has experienced a standout year in 2023, marked by the success of his hit “Favorite Song” and the release of his well-received sophomore album, NAUJOUR. The momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing down, as there are indications that Toosii is gearing up for another project titled JADED. Although the exact release date remains uncertain, he has been teasing the upcoming project by dropping singles, with the latest being “IDGAF.”

“IDGAF” is as emotional as it gets. Set against a dramatic trap beat with poignant piano notes, Toosii employs a dark, almost melancholic style of singing in his verses, touching on the desire to save his heart and being colder than Russell Westbrook during his tenure with the Lakers. The chorus introduces a more passionate sound while retaining its emotional resonance. Despite appreciating the song’s rawness, there’s a pondering whether Toosii truly desires the trappings of fame.

Toosii remains Rod Wave’s backup quarterback, which I don’t mind.
