Beyoncé is GOATED, so that will explain why she doesn’t feel the need to feed the streets as much as we would want her to. At this point, she has gifted her fans with everything: Clothes, movie soundtracks, movies, albums, concert specials, memes, and more. There’s no need for us to be greedy, folks. The good news is this, though: It seems like Beyoncé still has some s**t in the vault that we’ve never heard before. Today, she released one of the singles she had in there: “Grown Woman.”
If my math is mathing correctly, Beyoncé released her self-titled album before that Lion King soundtrack she was involved with. The reason I bring that up is that “Grown Woman” has a bit of a Motherland feel. Throughout the song, which features colorful, heart-pumping instrumentation, the Houston native brings out her rebellious side, letting the world know that she’s a grown woman who can do whatever she wants whenever she wants. As anticipated, you get to hear Beyoncé’s gorgeous vocals combined with her uncanny ability to sound like a few different characters. Towards the end, the song starts to give off a festive African feel. That’s when the song is at its highest of heights.
