As I stated a few days ago, Otis Fonde has had a very impressive 2023. In the past 12 months, he has released two projects, Fonde and Don’t Look Down. Both feature a bunch of high-quality, hard-hitting bangers and meaningful rhymes. From the latter, we’ve already covered the extremely tough “Type.” Another single from the project that we decided to cover is the meaningful “Yachtzee.”
In “Yachtzee,” Otis Fonde reflects on his younger days, talks about the major chances he took throughout the years, and emphasizes the importance of being loyal to those close to you. The song is driven by this impactful, dramatic beat that will force you to get lost in it. What I love is how Otis takes full command of it, hurling out a hook that is pretty impactful, both feverish and laidback flows, and a delivery that is as confident as it gets.
