If you think about it, JID might be the most promising rapper in the game today. Despite already delivering some highly impressive projects, such as The Forever Story, it feels like he still has the world ahead of him. In other words, I anticipate that JID has a few classic efforts waiting to be unleashed soon.
According to my sources (namely, my homie from around the way named Hector), JID is preparing to drop two albums this year: one solo project titled Forever & A Day and a collaborative effort with Metro Boomin. While I’m uncertain which project his latest single, “30 (Freestyle),” will be part of, I can confirm that it’s got me hyped to see what happens in the next couple of months.
I would eloquently describe “30 Freestyle” as “kick-ass music.” In the track, driven by a booming, almost Mariachi-like hip-hop beat courtesy of Conductor Williams, Cristo, and Tane Runo, JID consistently delivers ass-kicking bars rapidly. His fantastic wordplay and unflappable flows take center stage, but what truly stands out is how he commands the beat as if it were his stepson. It’s evident that this 33-year-old negro from Georgia cannot be tamed.
2024 has gotten off to a fantastic start in the hip-hop world.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
