Faye Webster & Lil Yachty Join Forces For “Lego Ring”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

After the achievements Lil Yachty had last year, I no longer question his decision-making. It’s evident that he’s a versatile musician with no qualms about exploring different genres. Today, Lil Yachty released two songs where he ventures well beyond the hip-hop realm: “Lego Ring” with Faye Webster and “Fallout” with Joey Bada$$ and Gus Dapperton.

So, you know who Lil Yachty is, but who is Faye Webster? She is a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, who has been active since 2013. One of her notable singles is “Kingston.” In “Lego Ring,” she thrives in her peculiar world while also introducing Lil Yachty to it.

Folks in the hood will call this song weird, while so-called music experts will call it artistic. The song has two faces: a really slowed-down one and an edgy alternative rock one. While it’s Faye’s vocals that sound pure and untouched in both faces, it’s Yachty’s that sound like they are being played off a radio from the early 1900s. All in all, if you are/were a fan of ‘Duck Duck Goose’ or ‘Musical Chairs,’ you’ll appreciate this song’s ability to start and stop abruptly.

OK, Yachty, this is a little too left… This is AOC left, my guy.
