I’m usually in favor of collaborations that make sense, but occasionally, I’m okay with those that don’t. “Fallout” featuring Lil Yachty, Joey Bada$$, and Gus Dapperton may not seem like an obvious match, but their execution is spot on.

In 2024, their collaborative single release suggests that they are eager to demonstrate their ability to step outside the box.
“Fallout” thrives in the pop realm, boasting a laid-back, rainy-day ambiance in its instrumental. Gus Dapperton takes the lead with his striking vocals, setting a compelling tone. Lil Yachty contributes a verse, delving into his passionate/fake singer side, while Joey Bada$$ delivers a brief, grungy, and dramatic rap verse, emphasizing his loyalty to his partner. Although the trio’s chemistry might not be seamless, each artist finds individual moments to shine in their distinctive styles.
