Wyclef Jean, Lola Brooke, Capella Grey, Flau’jae & Pusha T Unite For “Paper Right”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

It saddens me that the young jits of the world won’t know the impact Wyclef Jean has had in the music industry. This might be a stretch, but he was on the same level as Jermaine Dupri and Puff Daddy when it came to putting artists in positions to succeed in the 90s. While Wyclef decided to take some time away from music, he did return to the music scene with a new single called “Paper Right.”

Do you know what’s funny? Just yesterday, Wyclef Jean and The Rock’s “It Doesn’t Matter” played on my iPhone, so Wyclef was certainly on my mind. Contrary to what you might think, that wasn’t his latest musical endeavor. He made appearances on a few sporadic tracks in both 2022 and 2021. “Paper Right” marks a strong beginning for him in 2024.

“Paper Right” features a diverse lineup, but the song is truly impressive! I appreciate its purity and the positive messages conveyed by all the contributors. While Pusha T’s name stands out—and rightfully so, given his status as one of the best rappers of all time—I believe Lola Brooke and Flau’jae contribute empowering verses centered around overcoming challenges to achieve success and prosperity. Wyclef and Capella’s infectious vocals, especially in the hook, add another layer of appeal to the track.

Why can’t we get more empowering songs like this?

It may not be common to describe a Christmas-set, unrated, obscenely grotesque gore-fest as a feel-good movie, but Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 is precisely that.
