Fivio Foreign and Meek Mill have decided to reconnect for “Same 24.” In 2020, they previously joined forces on the drill-heavy track “Demons & Goblins.” While the latter exudes intense energy, the new release is an emotional banger that will elevate your appreciation for both rappers.
Interestingly, “Same 24” doesn’t have any drill elements (I feel like artists who choose to work with Fivio always assume he’s on drill time); instead, the track embraces a soulful sound. In their respective verses, Meek Mill and Fivio Foreign rap about the challenges they’ve overcome, the friends and family they’ve put on, and the snakes that want to steal their shine. What stands out is Fivio, who emerges as the star of the show with his introspective and honest lyrics. While Meek contributes an impactful, action-packed verse, it feels too short and off-topic for my liking. Nevertheless, this collaboration between the two East Coast rappers is dope.
