Warren Hue & Offset Are Hella Dynamic In “SLOPES”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

1999 WRITE THE FUTURE has been consistently releasing bangers lately. Late last year, the collective dropped a collaboration with Conway The Machine and Westside Gunn titled “MiNt cHoCoLaTe.” Last week, they released another collab, this time featuring Rich Brian and Rick Ross. Today, they’ve returned to the scene with a brand new collaboration featuring Warren Hue and Offset (What a run).

This song is an absolute banger. First and foremost, it features a flaming hot beat that should ignite anyone who claims they are the s**t on the mic. Thankfully, Offset and Warren Hue meet the challenge. Bouncing off each other’s energy, the two rappers hit us with feverish flows and infectious melodies that perfectly complement their lyrics about being major stars that can’t be muzzled. What’s cool is that Hue drops lines like, “Pull up with a fit and they mad mad / Show money bands in my backpack / Introduce Warren to your grandad,” letting us know that he’s adjusting to the newfound fame he has, while Offset delivers lines like, “I been going number one I could taste it / I was born up a star up on Elliot / I’ma sell out arenas and the stadiums / I got my gang and my family, I ain’t trading ’em,” indicating he’s been doing this for some time now. I just think it’s cool hearing the two levels of clout.
