In “Drives,” Russ adopts a woman’s perspective to depict a relationship that has soured, shedding light on the concealed wounds and lonely nights she endured. While I believe Russ excels when delivering impactful bars, in this particular song, he showcases his talent by employing high-pitched vocals over a guitar-heavy, stripped-down instrumental.
