I hate that I have to explain who KidCaliMDMG is to you, but our job is to inform those who aren’t informed. This talented rapper from San Diego, California has been making some of the purest hip-hop music you will ever hear in your life. Particularly, he’s great at delivering impactful punchlines and lyrics that keep it realer than Megan Thee Stallion’s booty. Some of my favorite tracks by KidCaliMDMG are “Love Me” and “On The Street.” His latest release, “ZaZa,” pays homage to one of his state’s biggest vices and features one of my favorite rappers, Rockie Fresh.
Contrary to popular belief, “ZaZa” isn’t about Zaza Pachulia’s contributions to the Golden State Warriors’ back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018. Instead, KidCaliMDMG and Rockie Fresh trade verses about their unwavering focus on making money, their appreciation for good vibes, music, and weed, and their disinterest in the antics of f**k n***as and thirsty women.
As someone who actually lives by the term “b*tch, don’t kill my vibes,” I absolutely love the smooth production that this song boasts. On top of that, I rock with the laidback but aggressive rap styles KidCaliMDMG and Rockie Fresh employ. The two rappers also flow on the beat extremely well, finding ways to utilize fast flows even though the beat has a slow tempo (On some ‘John Wall on the Wizards’ s**t).
Nah, seriously, I get angry when y’all mess up my vibes. This song got the good ones!
