Dizzee Rascal returns with a very entertaining 16-track album.

5. You Can Have Dat
This is the realest s**t Dizzee Rascal has ever written.
I could go on about the intricate production or the dynamic flows showcased in this track, but all focus must be on Dizzee Rascal’s poignant lyrics. In the song, he confronts his baby mama for preventing him from seeing his kids. Addressing their legal battles, he emphasizes that material possessions hold no sway over him; his sole priority is his children. Even if you don’t have similar personal experiences, I believe this song will resonate deeply with you.
Dizzee may have to call Steve Wilkos.
4. How Did I Get So Calm
Ironically, this song is far from calm…
As you’ve likely gathered, this album is brimming with lively beats and playful rap styles, so it’s no shocker that “How Did I Get So Calm” delivers an electrifying, uptempo, bass-heavy backdrop. What truly sells this song, however, are its lyrics, which will strike a chord with listeners. Dizzee poses a series of hypothetical questions in his verses, touching on topics like his “gorgeous ting,” fresh haircut, and fancy cars. Additionally, he reflects on newfound qualities like patience and boldness.
This song’s hook is unbelievably catchy. I also think the wordplay Dizzee showcases is captivating.
3. Get Out The Way (Ft. BackRoad Gee)
My favorite beat on this album is featured in “Get Out Of The Way.”
The beat knocks so hard, it had my speakers in a full nelson. What I appreciate is how both Dizzee Rascal and BackRoad Gee attack the beat head-on, delivering explosive rap verses and lyrical content designed to intimidate their rivals, showcase their unwavering confidence, and affirm their prowess in any neighborhood. Above all, this is the kind of track that will have you pushing through extra reps at the gym.
2. Switch and Explode
Getting your ass whooped to “Switch and Explode” will probably feel amazing.
This album has many explosive tracks, but “Switch and Explode” takes s**t to another level. Backed by a futuristic, technology-influenced beat, Dizzee uses erratic flows and bold deliveries to speak on his unflappable mentality. Though I think the tumultuous verses are worth your time, my GOD, the punchy hook is unbelievable!
1. Sugar and Spice (Ft. iLL BLU)
A relationship song that keeps it straight with no chaser.
In “Sugar and Spice,” set against an uptempo beat infused with vibrant pop elements, Dizzee Rascal delves into his personal encounters with attractive women. He alternates between describing them as “sweet like sugar” and potential pornstars, yet also refers to them as “batshit” at times. Additionally, Dizzee expresses his appreciation for his independence, suggesting that it’s the reason he refrains from fully indulging in such eye candy.
I’m a huge fan of pop-rap mixes, so that might explain why I really enjoy this song. “Sugar and Spice” features a bubbly hook that I think you’ll love, combined with this gritty rap style. It just creates the perfect concoction, sort of like how jalapeno margaritas always hit for some reason.

OVERALL RATING

I will always appreciate an album that f**ks with your mind.
If you’re a hip-hop fan, whether in America or abroad, you’ve probably heard of Dizzee Rascal. I’ll admit, I wasn’t very familiar with his music, but I knew he was one of the UK’s most prominent figures. With this album, Dizzee undergoes something of a reinvention. Throughout the project, he experiments with frantic, hyper hip-hop beats tailor-made for festivals and clubs in Ibiza. What’s impressive is that you still get the same aggressive raps from him, proving he’s as formidable as ever and staying true to his roots. If you’re into energetic, explosive, and punchy music, you’ll definitely vibe with this project.
