Joyner Lucas & Conway The Machine Trade Verses In “Sticks & Stones”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Joyner Lucas is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing rappers in the game. With his exceptional rap skills and industry connections, he’s a force to be reckoned with. However, it’s curious that he often flies under the radar when discussions about the hottest rappers arise. Additionally, Joyner’s approach to album releases, with two-year rollouts reminiscent of past music industry practices, adds to his mysterious persona. Today, the Massachusetts rapper returned to the music scene with a fresh single titled “Sticks & Stones,” featuring Griselda rapper Conway The Machine. It’s Joyner’s 15th single release from his forthcoming album.

Conway The Machine kicks off “Sticks & Stones” with a gritty verse, delving into the harsh realities of the streets, his recent power moves, and his penchant for luxury. Joyner Lucas, on the other hand, reflects on the repercussions of disloyalty, his contemplation of retirement, and the driving forces behind his continued rap career. While their verses may not align completely, both rappers exude a confident, cocky mentality that defines the track.

As mentioned before, the standout feature of “Sticks & Stones” is its raw, chilly vibe. The track eschews catchy choruses, infectious melodies, or vibrant beats in favor of gritty, unfiltered rap verses that will resonate with true fans of the genre. I think it’s dope to listen to. I’m not sure your girl will think it’s cool, though.

Joyner Lucas and Conway The Machine look like two completely different colored people.
