Ainjo Has Herself A “Pity Party”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Let’s address this right away: Ainjo possesses a voice that can move mountains. She’s also a fantastic songwriter, crafting records that eloquently capture the essence of love, heartbreak, and everything in between. If you’re looking to become an instant fan, dive into tracks like “Curious,” “Drake and Drive,” and “Drug.” Hell, why wait? I highly recommend you play her latest track “Pity Party.”

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with indulging in a little pity party, right? That’s precisely what Ainjo emphasizes in this track. Throughout it, she embraces the increased number of drinks she’s been having lately and the extra sleep she’s been getting due to the chaos she’s been dealing with as of late. While I can detect a hint of sarcasm in her words, I also sense a level of honesty. What a great balance.

I’m a massive fan of intoxicating R&B tracks like “Pity Party,” especially when they showcase singers like Ainjo, who can grab your heart and take it on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Aside from her captivating vocals, the song also boasts a seesaw-like instrumental that’s simply hard to ignore.

“Pity Party” might be the best track I’ve heard this year.
