Camila Cabelo & Playboi Carti Unite For “I LUV IT”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Something about Camila Cabello songs with trap rappers hit hard. Remember, one of her biggest singles is “Havana” with Young Thug. For her latest single, “I LUV IT,” Camila decided to recruit a far, far, far, far-left rapper in Playboi Carti, and I can’t say that I love what I heard.

“I LUV IT” is supposed to evoke many different emotions out of you. It’s supposed to make you feel empowered, like the big man or woman on campus, and confused. While Camila Cabello takes the lead with her high-pitched and quirky vocals, along with ADHD-inspired lyrics, Playboi Carti adds a verse provides the track with a verse in which he talks his s**t using this deep, barely audible rap voice. The two artists are accompanied by random-ass Gucci adlibs and a fast-paced, trippy beat that is supposed to f**k your head up.

Camila Cabello sounds like she’s trying to be weird in this song, while Carti sounds like God made him naturally weird.
